Papermark Alternative

Papermark shares the documents. Sifrsys runs the deal that starts when buyers ask questions.

Papermark suits a founder or a fund sharing a deck and a diligence set: page analytics on every plan, published certifications, an open-source core and unlimited rooms from its Data Rooms plan. Sifrsys suits a deal team with several buyers at once, where the AI must answer each participant only from what that participant may open, the financial model has to stay a spreadsheet, and the audit log is not an upsell. Every Papermark fact below is read from Papermark's own pages and dated.

Where Papermark is strongest

Sharing a deck, and knowing which page they read.

Papermark began as a document-sharing tool and its strongest feature is still the one a founder checks every morning. Every Papermark plan, the free one included, records page-by-page analytics for each viewer. You learn that a partner read the cap table twice and skipped the market slide, and the next call goes differently. Sifrsys logs document opens and per-sheet views in the audit log. It does not produce a per-page dwell report, and if that report is what you are buying, Papermark is the better purchase.

  2. Watch the reads
    Papermark's strongest step
  3. Buyers ask for the model
    Several bidders, one room
  4. Diligence questions
    Answers per participant
Papermark is strongest at steps one and two. The comparison turns on steps three and four.

Papermark also publishes what a security questionnaire asks for first. Its security page lists SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001, it offers EU data hosting, and its core is open source and can be self-hosted, with managed self-hosting on its Enterprise plan. Sifrsys describes its controls on the Trust Center, and shares its security documentation, a DPA and a completed security questionnaire for a vendor review.

Pricing

The same ladder, in euros and in dollars.

The numbers in the table below match tier for tier. Papermark prices in euros and Sifrsys in US dollars, and neither is converted here: a converted price would be our number, not theirs.

The differences are in what each tier holds. Papermark's Data Rooms plan has 3 team members and unlimited storage; Sifrsys Data Rooms has 5 team members and 20 GB. Papermark adds its Q&A module and audit log at Data Rooms Plus; Sifrsys has Q&A from Business ($79 a month) and the audit log on Free. Both bill annually at a discount: $99 a month for Sifrsys Data Rooms on annual billing. Full limits are on the pricing page.

Switching

Run both for a while. Move the deal when the questions start.

Nothing forces a choice on day one. Keep the deck where its analytics live, and open a Sifrsys room when the first buyer asks for the model. The Free plan costs nothing, so the second room is free until it outgrows the plan. Upload the folder tree as it is: PDF, DOCX, XLSX and PPTX files are parsed and indexed on arrival, and participants join by magic link with no account to create.

If you move a live room, rebuild the permission groups before inviting anyone, then check them by opening the room as a participant from each group. For the first ten paying companies, Sifrsys moves the documents, folder structure and permission setup out of the current room itself, at no charge.
